Red Sea International Airport (RSI) has announced the launch of its inaugural international flights, marking a significant milestone in its development. Since September 2023, RSI has been servicing domestic flights operated by Saudia, establishing a regular schedule.
The introduction of international flights, starting with flydubai's inaugural arrival on April 18, signifies a new phase for RSI, with a twice-weekly flight from Dubai. John Pagano, group CEO at Red Sea Global, emphasized RSI's strategic location, serving as a gateway accessible within three hours for 250 million people and aiming to accommodate 1 million guests annually at full capacity.
Pagano expressed enthusiasm for Saudi Arabia's emergence as a top global tourism destination, driven by RSI's connectivity initiatives.
Michael White, RSI's chief commercial officer, highlighted the airport's commitment to providing excellent services to passengers and airlines, with plans for further network expansion to cater to travelers from around the world.
The addition of flydubai services enhances connectivity, facilitating eight regular flights per week, thereby benefiting residents of the Red Sea regions in western Saudi Arabia.
