Qatar Tourism has inked two Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with renowned Saudi tour operators, Al Matar and Al Mosafer, to market Qatar as a destination to Saudi families and leisure travelers.

Both tour operators will promote the destination's schedule of events, major attractions, shopping and eating hotspots, as well as a suite of year-round travel packages.

The forthcoming AFC Asian Cup Qatar 2023 will receive particular marketing attention, with specialized trip packages including match tickets, flights, hotel, and transportation, as well as booking incentives and discounts.

Qatar Tourism led a delegation to this year's host city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, on World Tourism Day (September 27), participating in numerous discussions with regional tourism ministers and dignitaries to discuss the rapid development taking place across Qatar's tourism sector.

Mr. His Excellency "Qatar's delegation at this esteemed event saw numerous meetings and fruitful discussions with dignitaries from across the region," said Saad Bin Ali Al Kharji, deputy chairman of Qatar Tourism. We are pleased to highlight Qatar's significant efforts in expanding and developing its tourist sector. Forming relationships like this, as part of Qatar Tourism's longer-term vision, reflect our commitment to important markets and our continued pursuit of the 2030 tourism plan."

Qatar Tourism met with major tourism leaders from Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Jordan, Lebanon, Uzbekistan, Spain, China, and the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) to strengthen global partnerships. The meetings were attended by the following individuals: H.E. Ahmed Al-Khateeb, the Minister of Tourism in Saudi Arabia; Fahd Hamidaddin, the CEO of Saudi Tourism Authority; H.E. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, the Minister of Culture and Tourism of Turkey; H.E. Makram Mustafa Al-Qaisi, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities of Jordan; H.E. Walid Nassar, the Minister of Tourism of Lebanon; Umid Shadiev, the chairman of the Tourism Committee at the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan; H.E. Rosa Ana Morillo Rodriguez, the Secretary of State, Ministry of Industry, Trade, and Tourism of Spain; and Ji Xiaodong, the chairman of the China Chamber of Tourism.

Among the topics discussed were expediting visa processing, strengthening regulatory frameworks, coordinating cooperative promotional activities, and developing strategies to attract both visitors and investors across markets.

Saudi Arabia is the leading source market for international tourists to Qatar, with all GCC nations ranking among the top ten. GCC nationals are not required to obtain a visa to enter Qatar. The Hayya Platform allows GCC nationals' companions to seek for an admission permit. Visitors entering Qatar by land at the Abu Samra border may experience speedier car entrance thanks to the pre-registration option available on the Hayya platform, making the start of their stay in Qatar easier.
