The inauguration ceremony was presided over by Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, the esteemed Ruler of Sharjah, who unveiled the gardens to the public. Spanning a vast area of 1.6 million square feet, the Hanging Gardens soar to a height of 281 meters above sea level, offering panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
One of the most striking features of the gardens is their impressive collection of over 100,000 trees, which lend a lush and verdant ambiance to the entire space. During his visit, Dr. Sheikh Sultan took the time to appreciate the aesthetic elements meticulously incorporated into the garden's design, including meticulously manicured green spaces, vibrant flower beds, and cascading waterfalls.
Adding to the attraction, Hanging Gardens is a centrally located restaurant boasting a classic semi-circular architectural design. With seating for 215 guests, the restaurant offers breathtaking vistas of the gardens and the majestic waterfall that cascades through its heart, creating a serene and enchanting atmosphere.
For adventure enthusiasts, the Hanging Gardens offer an array of activities to partake in. Mountain climbing paths, divided into three levels of difficulty, provide opportunities for visitors to soak in the breathtaking views of the surrounding agricultural land, waterfalls, and lush vegetation. An excursion train, capable of accommodating up to 55 passengers, offers a leisurely journey through the gardens, spanning a distance of 820 meters.
Additionally, the gardens feature a 760-meter running track encircling its various landmarks, providing fitness enthusiasts with the perfect setting for their daily workout routines.
Beyond its recreational offerings, the Hanging Gardens serve as a testament to Sharjah's commitment to sustainable development and environmental conservation. By providing a space where visitors can connect with nature and enjoy a wide range of leisure activities, the project aims to enhance the city's appeal as a top-tier tourist destination while stimulating economic growth and adding value to urban development initiatives.
