Free admission to Expo 2020 museum starting May 18

The Expo 2020 Dubai Museum will open to the public with free entry on May 18, coinciding with International Museum Day. This museum offers behind-the-scenes insights into the journey of Expo 2020 Dubai.

On May 18 and 19, visitors can enjoy free combined entry to the new museum and the city’s three Stories of Nations exhibitions. Additionally, there will be a 50% discount on other attractions, including Alif, Terra, the Women’s and Vision Pavilions, and Garden in the Sky.

The museum chronicles the UAE’s initial participation in World Expos during the 1970s, the inception and bid for Expo 2020, the masterplan design and site construction, the pandemic-related challenges and postponement, the opening ceremony, and the six-month event. It will also highlight the World Expo’s impacts and ongoing legacy.

Guided tours will be available every 30 minutes. Located in the Opportunity District, the museum features a shop with Expo 2020 memorabilia, opportunities to collect more country stamps in Expo ‘passports,’ an Expo 2020 library, and rentable meeting spaces.

From May 20 onwards, entry to the museum will be included in the Expo City’s one-day Attractions Pass, which costs AED 120. Visitors can alternatively purchase a combined ticket for the Expo 2020 Museum and the three Stories of Nations exhibits for AED 50 for ages 12 and above, AED 40 for children aged 4 to 11, and free for children aged 3 and under. Tickets are available at www.expocitydubai.com.
